Just got back from New York Fashion Week
here are soem pics of other backstage photographers and their modified
light shaping tools
must say the new yorkers werent as innovative as the italians opting for standard softboxes but there were a few innovations
off camera flash
australian phog Antonello Trio with his Suacepan made ring flash it really is made from a saucepan wins the innovation prize
this is just silly
notice the paddle pop sticks
hex umbrella softbox
i used a modified fong spehere and a modified ProFoto beauty dish with grid
interesting to see how other togs worked it backstage

cool stuff
Notice how practical the Aussie is with his Sausepan ... Take a few photos ... get hungry ... throw some Bacon & eggs inthe Sauspan ... quick wipe and cool down, reconnect the flash and back into the photos
Makes sense to me

Surprised he didn't use a mini Webber then. He can bring out the tray, hold a bbq then pop it back on.

I agree, always fascinating to see these behind-the-scenes shots Wendell. As for your images, they are always of the most exacting standard.
I might give the saucepan idea a go, or maybe I could use my wife's new wok?

So if you still shot film, you could say that you going to 'Wok n Roll'

This was a feeble attempt at humour, almost as bad as my frequent and terrible efforts!
