Heya folks

This is my first foray into this type of photography. After a couple of weeks of planning (researching, meeting with models and more researching) we were ready for prime time! I basically wanted to do something really different and more dramatic and I think I delivered since my family and friends were floored by the results (probably cause I kept it a closely guarded secret)

Anyway Here are the results of the Sunday shooting. C&C most appreciated.

Thanks!

To echo the above, very impressive images!
I like the lines, composition and general mood (if that makes sense) of the last two best.

cheers, Elena

Really great work!

My pick is number 3. Great image. I do find the clouds though a little bit distracting...I think with the BW conversion it may be a stronger image without them.....

Keep up the good work!

I'm not an expert in male body appreciation, but the composition and especially the tones are first class. I think for me the tonal scale makes the images. I love the stark contrast between sand and sky, and the model connecting the two...

Cheers

Absolutely beautiful work here. I wouldn't be surprised if you said you'd been shooting for Black&White magazine for years!

Especially love the second shot, it has a kind of femininity yet maintains the male form thru the strength highlighted by the shadows on the muscles.

Great job.

Ron,

Great shooting, and great post as well.

A couple of very minor criticisms ... in #3 ... I'd have liked to have seen a slightly wider angle, or a slightly different angle of view; one that kept the subject's feet within the frame.

And in #4 - which is my favourite, btw - I'm wondering if you can bring out just a little more detail and texture in the sand? It's already a great image, but in the foreground I can see a little bit of texture in the sand that has ripples leading towards the subject. I think it may help if these could be brought out a little more.

This is some fine work. As Beetleboy says, it could be straight out of Black+White magazine (if you haven't already, check it out - available at most newsagents with a decent Photo Mag section (not MyFirstDigiCam)

Being your first attempt at this kind of photography, I think you're on to something! :D
