Peron's Tree Frogs

Here are four shots I took tonight of some of the many Peron's tree frogs, Litoria peronii, in our "pool".

Comments and critiques welcome.

They are just gorgeous! I wish I knew how to attract nice green frogs to my place. All I get are cane toads.

1 & 4 are SOOO cute, but #2 for me.

The colour seems to off in #3 or is it a different frog?

Teela,

Perhaps you are trying too hard. Our house came with an above ground pool but I couldn't be bothered maintaining it. When our cats were small we worried they'd fall in so we got one of those black plastic covers for the pool. After a few months it had water on top and this makes a very nice (and large) pond. We now get 20+ male Peron's tree frogs calling from in, on and around it every night from around September to March. I expect we're only a few weeks away from having the "pool" full of tadpoles, too. :)

Greg,

It is a different frog and is probably closer in terms of colour to life. I'm still in the process of tuning the white balance with the flash. (I found my old gray card (Kodak Neutral Test Card) yesterday so I'm not that far away from getting it right.)

Nah the fact that we have cane toads all around the place, apparently that keeps other frogs away.

Is that you reflected in the eyes of #'s 1 and 2 Andrew?

One of my absolute favourite frogs !!!!!
Love the 'goofiness' of shot 1 - and then you can really see how the pupils have reacted to your flash from shot 1 to 2 !!
Well done - more please :)
