Batch copyright watermark

Hi all,
I'm wanting to do a batch copyright watermark to about 200 images in PSCS3. I could do a google search but thought I'd see if anyone here could suggest an easy way to do this?

I created a droplet to do something along this line last year and it worked quite well, I'm at work at the moment but will have a look for the info when I get home.

this may be more than your after:

as it adds a vector based logo and saves it as a path to include over the image. It works great for horizontal and vertical images, and Ive also used it with just http://www.something.com text.

with CS3 you can use the image processor to run through the action you created with this tute.

i am absolutely stumped trying to work your little trick.
where do i find "fit-align" and how do i get it to actually work?

ive been trying hopelessly with selecting the contents of a layer then using "Align layers to selection"

Are there any other parameters i need to have in the image for it to work?
What i did was create a watermark in a separate PSD, then Place > find PSD.
Then i try using the align to selection but it doesnt move at all.

the issue i found with action batching now is that i either have to have the images open OR i have to have the save-as and path in the action, i am now using file > script > image processor, this way i dont even have to open the images just select the source folder the destination folder the action i want to apply to each image, can even set the jpeg compression and add a copyright line to exif data and then let PS do the work, i did over 2000 shots today in about 30min

after a little researching, i chose this method to do my watermarking.
the only issue i had was that i had to adjust the watermark size a few times before i got it to fit on a vertically oriented image.
other than that, it works flawlessly, minimal CPU usage and ahhh its great!

My action essentially resizes the photo to 640 pixels on the long side, creates a watermark, positions the watermark, sets the file copyright info, flattens and sharpens the image, saves the file to a folder called 'temp' on my desktop, and closes the file.

Michael is right, you don't have to have the images open to batch process them, but you do have to have a 'save as' command in the action, unless you want to go through and save each one, but for my purposes this is fine. It does work on horizontal and vertical images, which means you can just run it on an entire folder.

Anyway, I have made a generic version of my action, which you are all welcome to use. Just change the text to suit you, and change the file info to so that the copyright has your details in it (currently just says "your company here").

Then go to your actions palette and load the action.

Edit: If you don't have my font, which you probably don't, I'm not sure how it will look, so you may have to change that too.

I am currently slowly working thorugh 1000s of pics from past 7 years and trying to order/tag them for ease of reference.

I trust your action will help speed things up appreciably...I'll give it a go this long w/e!

Create your text layer, then "select all." The whole photo should be selected, then, while the text layer is highlighted in the layers palette, "align layers to selection." This will move the text to the position you desire.

I get an error on the first property with the Java Script. But I have been able to modify the action to my name / font / size and position.

Sorry, I'm not sure how to fix it to work smoothly in CS2.

I can give some instructions as to how to build your own action though, which I will try and get around to soon.
