That last shot of the bear is awesome. Great light; really beautiful.

Isn't that the Snow Leopard Leigh?

Great shots of it and the bear though, the Lion, typically aloof!

Leigh - #1 - I like the simplicity, #4 is the standout though. Nice B & W too.

I agree entirely with Peter. Excellent images.

I may be in the minority here... I like #2 and #3, especially the pensive look in #2.

I'd love to see the colour versions (not being a fan of black and white).

I like the bear shot best, but agree that pensive almost contemplative look is brilliant.

Leigh,

You've been posting some great shots of the animals from your latest visit of the zoo.

Most people would just have ignored taking the lion photo but the way you have it and in b&w gives a real interesting take on a much photographed animal, I like it.

#2 of the snow leopard is also very nice wit the eye contact.

As many above, the bear shot is a classic for me,

Cheers,

André

Ok, so it's a snow leopard and not a tiger. It wouldn't have had the same title with "Lions and snow leopards and bears..."

I'll post the colours when I get home from work. Cheers for the comments all.

:P

I don't know if the colour images will add anything to be honest. These just work as a b&w!

Haven't you been listening? RULE OF THIRDS!! RULE OF THIRDS!! They would have been much better if you only had only shown a third of the animal! :

I think that's how it works?

I agree with Peter & Bernie! :)

#1 has simplicity, but the lighting and therefore the texture makes it wonderful.

It is also unusual(= good!) because the animal has its back to the camera, yet it's obviously a snow leopard / tiger err... lion! :D

Excellent image.
