D70s not working and displaying flashing 'Err'

Postby shockadelica- on Fri Sep 28, 2007 7:38 pm

D70s started flashing 'Err' today
something is up with the shutter

i played with a wireless flash transmitor today
but i doubt that could have caused this ?

does this mean it needs to see a doctor?
if so, can someone please tell me where i need to go?
and roughly how long it usually takes

Tried the "two button reset" and taking the battery out for a couple of minutes approach?

If error persists see the doctor

The ERR is from a mechanical problem with the shutter. How many actuations it has gone through?

I guess the quickest way to find out is a trip or call to Nikon.

Or try the one in Bondi (poraday) [02-9387-4088], they seem to attend you better than Maxwell, err, I mean Nikon Aus...

My D70 has been to Bondi under warranty. Great service, didn't have any probs, and got the sensor and cam cleaned.

thanks everyone
took it down to poraday on Bondi Rd yesterday

*added

Poraday is an excellent company to deal with for repairs.
I booked in the hire of a d2x as my camera is with poraday now.
the hire of the d2x was going to cost me quite alot of money but peter from poraday is going to push my repair a little forward so that i do not need spend all that extra money on hiring another camera.

cheers for the recommendation
