what photography is about

Postby jben_net on Sun Sep 30, 2007 11:03 am

You know I've gotten a little obsessed with dpreview with all the comparisons between D3 and canons, reading loads of people insulting eachother, people claiming that they know what they are talking about, me believing them, and thn them getting shutdown, misinformation galore and perhaps most importantly, me wasting time. I guess I should have been out using my camera instead of getting stuck in this quagmire of information. So here I was wasting away my sunday on my laptop when all of a sudden I hear this cheeping noise coming from outside my door, I go outside and find a bunch of freshly hatched chicks with their mother having a dustbath. I got out there and started shooting. Inspired to be away from the flouresent light and happy to be breathing in the fresh air I realised what photography is all about.

Fabulous! I like both images. The first one is symptomatic of how you feel about critical reviews, that is turning your rear towards it; and the second has that inquisitive look "what is this all about?"

Photography is about recording a moment in time never to be repeated....... but what you do with the recorded moment of time is what is important......
