Hello....

Hi All,

Just wanted to say hi.

I got my D70 (bought the kit) yesterday and as yet have not had much time to play with it. Looking forward to learning about the camera and photography from these forums.

First thing I am trying to decipher is custom curves

My head is already spinning.

Anyway hope to contribute to these boards regularly

Woody,

Welcome aboard.

For the moment I'd suggest not worrying too much about custom curves. Just grab your camera and start shooting.

There's a lot you can do in post processing beyond custom curves - it's a whole different ball game, and in terms of the things you can accomplish, it's not too dissimilar from getting your hands wet in a traditional darkroom. The methods employed are vastly different however.

Welcome

I agree with Gary.

Just enjoy the moment & start shooting.

You have to get to know the tool before you can make it talk :D

Cheers

Hi Guys,

Yeah I know... I have a tendency to jump into the deep end :)

I am looking forward to the weather clearing up (I'm in Sydney) so I can get out and about with the camera a bit.

I saw that but considering my wife and I are having our second baby anyday now (maybe even today!!!) I don't think I can make it :)

Maybe next time.
