NSFTWDLBP - A couple more Alex photos

Got a thin skin? Then look elsewhere. Post a link to an image that you've made, and invite others to offer their critiques. Honesty is encouraged, but please be positive in your constructive criticism. Flaming and just plain nastiness will not be tolerated. Please note that this is not an area for you to showcase your images, nor is this a place for you to show-off where you have been. This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Typically, no more than about four images should be posted in any one post or thread, and the maximum size of any side of any image should not exceed 950 px.

Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

Took a few more today - softbox and a little slave/strobe to the camera right.

Hopefully you can view these - and if you can, some C&C would be appreciated.

Patrick,

All I can see are red crosses, no images.

I don't know why smugmug images don't work. I have reposted via Flickr.

Cheers

Great pictures and poses!

Only feedback I have is that the first 2 look a touch overexposed (on my cruddy laptop monitor)

Number 3 for me because of that (if it's my monitor causing the problem, number 2 is my favourite :D )

Thanks guys. David, the first two are a little more "high-key" - the exposure is ok, albeit a little high?

I did print out no 3 at A3 and it did turn out pretty good, if I do say so myself.

That 85 lens is super sharp at 5.6!

Oh, these are straight out of the camera (apart from some ACR adjustments and sharpening).

I've never had trouble with posting smugmug hosted images. Are they in a password protected non public gallery perhaps?

Simon, the gallery used to be PW protected, but I changed that. It is a public gallery. Since changing the PW protection, I was able to post on here successfully - it has only been the last two attempts which have failed.

Tell me, can you see this photo from a different smugmug gallery?

I'm a #2 fan too Patrick. All good though. So cute.

What's with that sign in your last post

Cheers, Mick :) :) :)

Can see that fine. There is also an option in the galleries to disable links to forums and other sites. Maybe check that that hasn't been turned on somehow.

I think that restriction was turned on. I turned it off (I think) and here is another attempt from smugmug:

Mick - that sign image was simply a test to see if images from my other smugmug galleries posted fine. :D

Hasn't he ever? He has over doubled in weight and I think grown about 40% in length. He now is exhibiting a much wider range of emotions - he laughed for the first time last week. :D :D
