Trying to find the DCIM

Postby 7zark7 on Wed Nov 14, 2007 10:34 am

Morning all,

i plugged my D70 into an XP box this morning and cannot navigate to the DCIM directory on the camera.

the camera launches straigh into D70 and displays the pictures on the card.

i was hoping to use the card to store some other files, i.e. portable memory but in this mode i cannot.

any suggestions?

What mode is the D70 in? From memory there are two, one being mass storage and the other I cannot recall.

Cheers

Yes there are two. PTP and mass storage. You want Mass storage. Sounds like you have PTP. . This is on the Spanner menu under USB.

You would probably do better though to use the CF card out of the camera in a separate card reader.. Having the USB port active drains the batteries in the camera quite quickly. Also, if your desk is anything like mine, there is a real risk of the camera sliding off the desk. Ouch!
