MBD200 Query

Postby Dargan on Mon Nov 12, 2007 1:35 pm

Does anyone know if you can buy parts for an MBD200. I have a cracked section around the AF-ON Section. This was caused by a break in the strap of my Loewepro Nova 2AW bag, its done good service for 3 years but the catch broke, the bag fell and you can see the result in the image below. It is still working OK but I would like to know if it is fixable. Anyone had similar problems and fixed this?

I had my MBD200 repaired after a camera drop and it only took about a week for Nikon to send the two little grey tabs that hold the batteries in place. Having said that, they have had my 17-35mm 2.8 since early September and I'm not expecting that back until the end of this month. I did a good job of destorying it tho, smashed the lens hood and knocked the internal elements out of round....whoops!

Gotta love AON insurance :D

I don't know why - I purchased 5 of them about 4 weeks ago from Nikon Australia here at Lidcombe. Just walked in, requested the parts, paid and walked out happy at about $2.70 each.

Is your order with Nikon here in Sydney (Lidcombe) or is it with another Branch somewhere else (I don't know if they have branchs or other locations just asking a dumb question). I have always found that Nikon really don't seem to know what they're doing at the best of times. Maybe they lost or misplaced the order and don't want to look stupid (too late).

I ordered a battery door for the D200 and all I got was part of it. I had to go back and order the rest of it bit by bit - it not available as a complete assemby and they say that no one has ever purchased a complete door.

Yea right - out of the thousands of D200's - no one has ever lost or fully damaged a battery door - especially if you use a grip

So did you use an elaborate arrangement of carefully positioned and strategically placed mirrors to enable you to take this shot?... or just another camera?

There's only one of them in Sydney - Birnie Street Lidcombe - about 3 minutes drive from where I work and the same place I got mine.

Maybe I got the last of them - Hey I could probably sell them for $50 each  - or just hold on to them as they're as rare as rockin horse %%%%. More than likely your far enough away that Nikon doesn't give a rats for your order especially considering the value (to them).

Oh I think they might give something soon, I am going to step it up a notch next week.

My emails are now unanswered :x But interesting to see they charged my credit card a few months back.. That ought to be interesting when I put a disputed transaction complaint in to the bank on Monday.

They had a backorder situation (I was told 3 weeks after ordering and funds deducted :x . They were expected in around the time you got yours.

The real bugger is I ordered 10 of each thinking I will lose them again, but havent lost the one spare I already had since.... Murphy's law..

I think it's illegal to charge your credit card for something when the item's not in stock.
