Question about Canon M80

Postby TonyH on Thu Nov 22, 2007 10:40 pm

Does a Canon M80 display Nikon RAW files on the screen or is it just Canon RAW files?

I am possibly looking at buying one to use for overseas and obviously shoot Nikon.

Cheers

Tony

Bought the M80, on initial appearance performs very well.

Download with confirmation of 4gb CF with NEF & High Res JPG around 20 mins.

Screen terrific and battery life not too bad.

It will not display NEF files but will display Nikon JPG with histogram and exif data.

OMG, I'm glad I didn't get one of those! Which CF card was it?
I like it that my Nexto can do a 4GB card in <7 minutes (in general the less time it's running the more battery life I get, and the quicker I can get back to photographing/etc). But then the Nexto doesn't have a screen for image display.

But at least the M80 uses the same batteries as the 40D/5D/etc so battery life shouldn't really be an issue.

Dave it's a Transcend 120X.

Time qoted is to download and confirm. Download only is half of that time. Battery life really isn't an issue. I estimate being able to download between 40 and 60gig of files on one battery
