6x8 Photo paper ??

Howdy all,

I have a problem.. ( yes, I know about the mental one, :p this is different...)

I have a client that is wanting me to supply a large number of 6x8 prints.

(they will have to be printed, autographed and handed to the clients onsite, so sending them away is not an option unfortunately)

Rather than mucking around printing on A4 sheets and then trimming them - I am looking for anyone that knows of any decent quality paper that is available pre-cut to 6x8.

I have offered them A4 for the same price, but they specifically want 6x8 at the largest. (6x4 is too small also)

I am looking at about 150 sheets minimum..

Any suggestions ????

What about roll paper?

Use an R1800 with the roll adaptor.

I have a Canon Pro9000 (unfortunately in this case)

Normally A4's are wanted by all my clients, this is the first time I have been asked for 6x8's

So, you're saying that a camera named as a "pro" camera doesn't do roll paper?

Smells like <strike>bullshit</strike>marketing to me.

Can't talk 'em into 7x5?

Why do they want such a strange size anyway?

Quick question from left field: if the so-called celeb will be autographing the prints, will you also need to test to ensure that the pen that will be used will write on the selected paper stock?

Nah, it doesn't do Roll paper - I have access to a 36" and 44" wide format printer for that stuff, but it's a bit of overkill for this situation, not to mention - bloody huge to lug around..

I just want it to be an easy process on the day without the hassle of having to cut and trim etc... one less thing to worry about...

I guess my only option is to have the A4's pre giloutined and just use them...

5x7's would be great, but Nah, they really want 6x8's - and if they are paying the bills, they get what they want :p

We have already sorted out the pen on paper issue. For all the events so far, I have printed them at home the evening of the event and then send the prints to them to be signed and we post them out to the punters, but for this event - we will do them all on-site and hand them straight too them where they can get them personally signed...

In case anyone is curious, the 'celebs' are actually racing drivers who are taking people for 280km/h hot-laps around Mt Panorama, Bathurst in their race cars. They all get a pic of them in the car and with their chosen racing hero etc.

Call up an office supply store or HP and ask whether these can be found in Australia.

I know ( as I've had many 6x8 prints done ) that Hardly Normal at Balgowlah print 6x8 for $1 each.

Since your a Northern Beaches local maybe go and speak to the person in the print kiosk and ask where they get their paper from or buy it from them.

Unless of course their Fuji machines are cutting the paper off a role before it spits it out, who knows?

The 6x8 HP paper is not photo paper unfortunately. it's just a plain cardbard like you use for kids projects etc

After googling - I had found them and ordered some of them a while back...

I will try the Fuji Kiosk idea though.. thanks heaps...

Kiosks use thermal roll paper, totally unsuitable.

Ohh well, looks like I will just be having the A4 sheets giloutined professionally beforehand so they are all even..
