Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Sunrise at Bar Beach

Postby wazonthehill2 on Sun Dec 30, 2007 9:01 am

Went down to Bar Beach for sunrise on Friday.
Got a few shots that show I have a lot to improve on.
Any comments welcome

The birds were starting to move as the sun sent rays from behind the cloud.

The coal boats waiting to go in add a focus point.

A bit dark, but it adds to the feel i think. Having it lighter or brighter lost the effect I think.

The lights on the seeting area and art work in the predawn.

Agree, I think that last one would look great framed. Nice. I think the first two are too bright though. IMHO you need some dark moody lighting in sunrise shots, like what you ahve achieved with the 3rd image.

Well done though, I always like to see what a sunrise looks like. There's no other way I will!!!

Thanks guys

Raskill
I tend to like the darker ones myself, but people keep telling me they all need to be brighter and lighter.
Some times the dark moody ones just work for me (may be a insight to my psychic).
