The second one is far better than the first, but you clipped his right ear a bit which detracts from it slightly. A feisty, difficult to photograph dog perhaps.

I agree with what Killa said - great 2nd image..the first one looks like it could have used some fill flash. Nice stuff though

Thanks for the tips, the cropping is easily fixed as I cropped it after the fact during the Post processing,
I had his bone in my left hand while I was clicking away, that could be the reason for his expression. with regards to the first photo, yes fill flash as well as a shallower DOF would have been good. Cheers Mak Canonian
