Ridata 4gb CFHey guys
Planning on purchasing a couple from HKSupplies for wedding work and was wondering if these cards are reliable? I know we shouldn't skimp on quality cards but sometimes cheaper cards like these can perform as good as cards that get big marketing exposure. Is this the case with Ridata?
I have a Ridata x133 4 gig and it works 'fine diddly ine'.
That being said I bought it frm a member here for a very good price. He had another one that died while being used in his camera. I prefer to use Sandisk Extremes, but I generally only use 2 gig cards, so as not to place all my eggs in one basket. 2x D700, 2x D2h, lenses, speedlights, studio, pelican cases, tripods, monopods, patridges, pear trees etc etc

I have several Ridata cards, the last 4 bought from HK Supplies via ebay, and these have never missed a beat. Ridata is a very large manafacturer to computer memory and is in Taiwan.
If I want anymore cards, Ridata will be my first choice.
I have a RIDATA 1MB CF card that I used in my 10D for years and never had a problem with it.
It's been relegated to a very very spare now I've got a couple of 8GB 'Tomato' brand cards for the 40D. (Bought from Stu @ Quality Camera.)
TinyJPEG ![]() Do you know how hard it is to FIND CF cards that small? ![]()
Is it? Leigh bought a handful of 256MB cards just before Xmas, IIRC. I have, at home, cards as small as 8MB. Genuine Nikon branded, even. ![]() g.

Yeah, but that's not 1MB. That's special.
I personally try to stick to lexar and sandisk. (+ take precautions!)
slowly upgrading all my cards to the Lexar UDMA 300x cards.
