First shot from Canada

Well... the first one I have managed to properly process anyway!

Haliburton is a small town in central Ontario. This entire region is known as "Cottage Country" - a place where many city dwellers (predominantly Toronto in this case) have their holiday cottages. Some of these 'cottages' are multi-million dollar mansions with 9 or more bedrooms!

This farm was located down a lonely road. The dying sunlight peeped through the only blue sky we saw in 17 days. The temperature was around -2c which was actually quite warm.

Simply stunning.
I love the subtle colour in the background trees contrasted against the barn.
I hope we're going to see lots more

Beautiful image - you've got a good eye because I'm sure I would just walk straight past this.

Any more closer of the barn? It looks like it has interesting features, ie. stone wall and iron upper.

BB - I'm trying to troll through them all now - around 500 shots to go through but I'm not sure how many will be worthy of posting!

LB - Yep, certainly back on deck but another good night's sleep will help! This was as close as I could get. I was actually leaning over the fence. Along the road there were several signs warning about hunting or trespassing so I wasn't about to find out whether the owners actually hunted trespassers! A shame though. You're right, it was a gorgeous old building with lots of little bits and pieces to keep a photographer happy for weeks.

You've done well with the exposure here.

The tree against the snow and sky is great - I think that I would like to see a bit more of the barn because it looks very interesting.

Simon it is nice to be looking as something so cool as I sit here in the summer heat.
I love the colours and framing of the shot. But my eye is drawn to the window in the middle of the barn. At first I thought it was the glass reflecting, but then I realsied that it must be looking straight through the barn.
Maybe the clone tool could help. But then again..........

Mal - I didn't even realise that doorway went straight through until you pointed it out! I think I'll leave it there if only to balance what would be a very dark part of the shot (and it's dark enough there as it is )

What a beautiful shot. The desat that's in the forest in the background really adds genuine depth to this image. Print this big and sell it.
