The need for speedTrying to catch these guys on the wing is difficult for me.
They are even to quick for autofocus so it is all manual. I love unshrp mask for this stuff Regards Colin
Great capture, Colin. They certainly move fast. Was this taken with a prime 300mm or a zoom?
My only suggestion would be to try a crop with more space in front - although the way you have it now suggests it is moving very quickly.
Thats fantastic...I'm jealous.
I can only get stills at the moment as either my panning or focusing needs work. As with ATJ, more room at the front, as they do with motor sport etc would give a real feel of speed. Great capture C&C more than welcome!
Canon 300d...(hopefully not for too long though) http://www.redbubble.com/people/HandleBars
In am in awe
and aww shite that is good Well captured. Now to get a shot of the perch leaping from the pond to catch the dragon fly! Waz whizzzz, there goes life again.....
But now captured on a Canon 40D with bits http://www.flickr.com/photos/wazonthehill/
This was taken with the sigma 70-300mm set in macro,
which limits to 200-300mm. Did most time that afternoon at 300mm. No need to pan just have to wait till they hover in one spot for that second or two. This was a two second hover as I am not quick enough for the others or to pan as fast as they move. Only managed three or four exposures in about an hour, and only two were worth keeping. Will try a diferent crop as he was pretty plumb in the frame. Regards Colin
Awesome shot Colin. Great DOF and you got the little bugger reasonably sharp too which is way impressive
Peter
