Got a thin skin? Then look elsewhere. Post a link to an image that you've made, and invite others to offer their critiques. Honesty is encouraged, but please be positive in your constructive criticism. Flaming and just plain nastiness will not be tolerated. Please note that this is not an area for you to showcase your images, nor is this a place for you to show-off where you have been. This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

the title is a little exaggerated :)
I have been away camping with my son since new years day and had lots of fun cooking on open fires, making damper swimming in rivers etc. so I didn't take as many photos as I had planed (or take that much care when I did)

the new year started with the fire works in Sydney (EXPLOSIONS)

then it was off down to Wollondilly River Station for a little camping
My son learning how to cut firewood and not himself at our came site (Fire)
Image

one of the locals who seem to live right where we camped as he was seen on a number of different days (Dragons)
Image

our camp site was only half an hour away so we went and had a look through Wombeyan caves (CAVES)

I had planed to spend my days off on a photo trip with camping as a side activity but the roles were soon reversed when I decided to take Angus along... we had a ball :)

They are all excellent photographs, but for me the cave image is the best because of the colours, depth of field, highlights and shadows.

Keith

#3 and #4 are well captured an exposed with my preference for the lizard by a whisker. #1 is a good capture but I am put off by the odd colour cast it seems to have eg the Happy New Year on the pylon is very blue rather than white which makes me think there is a blue or cyan WB cast here.

Love the Caves shot. Which cave was that? I did the self walk one a while ago and didn't take the camera (Do'oh!) but imagined that shooting inside would be very difficult as it's totally dark except for the focused light they turn on as you go. Was this an area lit by daylight?
