Time for a new LCDHey guys i would love some advice on a new LCD as im am about to build a new system for gaming and post processing.
I have had my eye on the dell range as i have heard only good things about them. I checked out the site today and noticed a new model that seems to be better specked than the others. The newer model while better specked is more expensive and only available in 22inch. http://www1.ap.dell.com/content/product ... l=en&s=dhs where as i would probably choose the 24 inch otherwise http://www1.ap.dell.com/content/product ... l=en&s=dhs Are there any other LCDs around the 22/24 inch $700 range you would recommend over the dells so i guess im just saying.... HELP!!! any advice would be appreciated http://flickr.com/photos/jamesthomsonphotography/

I have two of the Dell 24", one is the newer HC version and another the version just before the HC became available, both bought in 2007. I can easily say that these are the best LCDs I have owned and you will not be sorry if you get them.
Also having owned a few LCD displays these are the first I have bought that did not have any Dead/Bright pixels when I received them. With a monitor of that size that is impressive. The only problem I have with them though is that I now also want a Dell 30" as well.
the thing that draws me towards the 22 inch model is the 2000:1 contrast ratio and its 2ms response time. Will i notice a big differance between that and the 24 inch which has 1000:1 and 5ms

I've got the Dell 2407WFP-HC and once calibrated it's awesome, well priced compared to Vince's ACD's
Re: Time for a new LCDIf you're looking at the 2407-HC you can use this E-code to get a further 10% off: 39143E92686A
I've also heard that if you call Dell they shouldn't have any problems doing it for $799. (they recently had a promo that ended) I have a 2407-HC myself. Its a great tool for photo editing, you won't be disappointed if you choose to get one.
