Re: Calling Rel - are you there?I'm not Rel (not even close) but I believe this is a Litoria lesueuri, although it would be nice to see the non PP version.
Re: Calling Rel - are you there? The only PP done to this is a little sharpening. Colours are as is.

Re: Calling Rel - are you there?Oh, wow. I still think it is L. lesueuri but the colour is quite odd (at least based on the L. lesueuri that I have seen).

Re: Calling Rel - are you there? It's actually Litoria wilcoxii (previously known as Litoria lesueuri , but reclassified after a taxonomic revision) - the males are significantly smaller than the females, and will colour up to this brilliant yellow when breeding - this is one that I took up at Crows Nest

Re: Calling Rel - are you there? Thanks Rel - I knew that I could count on you By the way, other than The Wildlife of Greater Brisbane (which I bought) is there a good frog specific field guide I can purchase. I hate shooting things I cannot ID.

Re: Calling Rel - are you there?
Rel, Is that right across Australia, or only the Queensland frogs? From what I can find L. lesueuri is still valid for New South Wales.
Re: Calling Rel - are you there?the northern populations were reclassified in 2004, but the NSW population still exists as lesueuri .... there is an 'all right' distribution map for lesueuri on http://frogs.org.au/frogs/species/Litoria/lesueuri/ with the distribution for wilcoxii on http://frogs.org.au/frogs/species/Litoria/wilcoxi/ and jungguy on http://frogs.org.au/frogs/species/Litoria/jungguy/
If you want to get technical : taken from http://amphibiaweb.org/cgi-bin/amphib_q ... s=wilcoxii (actually a pretty good site) Dodging and burning are steps to take care of mistakes God made in establishing tonal relationships! -Ansel Adams
