Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

Hi All, Here is a couple of pics of an oil rig that has finally come into Portland Victoria for some work on the rig etc...
This to happen they had to unload about 200 ton of chain and the drilling pipe as well as upset the locals from shutting the break water down to the public stopping them from fishing.

This is a big rig and have been watching it closely as it moved towards the port as i travel to Portland 3 times a nite in the truck and i would have loved to stay till all the lights was on but it was a very windy day there today and as it is over a 100klm away from home i wanted to get home and beat the Kangaroo's before they came out.
Rig Info

Rig Name: Ocean Patriot
Rig Manager: Diamond Offshore
Rig Owner: Diamond Offshore
Competitive Rig: Yes

Rig Type: Semisub
Semisub Generation: 3
Rig Design: Trosvik Bingo 3000

Rated Water Depth: 1,500 ft
Drilling Depth: 30,000 ft

Thanks, yes i should have stayed longer it is going to be there for a month or so, so maybe next time and Rob the roos dont bother me when i am in the truck cos i just run over them and they bounce of the bull bar, but when in my own car i dont like them as i see how many roos there are of a night time along that road. Sometimes i see bunches of upto like 50 roos just sitting on the edge of the road and dodging Koalas and bloody emus just run out in front of you so will try get some night shots when i get a chance to go down in my 4wd as i want to do some fishing there so will stay at freinds place for a night.
