Excellent Dan. You'll love it.
It's one hell of a camera.

Great news. There still seems to be a lot of people waiting for one to become available. It sounds like it should be an excellent tool. You may have trouble sleeping for a few nights. :D

I hate you.

The minister of finance would kill me if I came home with another lens, let alone a camera. lol.

Have fun, looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the beast.

They are the sexiest piece of gear going at the moment.

I'd have been there all weekend waiting. It's very exciting.

Dan spent last night at remedial reading classes, so that he can spend today reading the manual.

If things are going to plan it is more likely to be a Monday next month sometime! Nikon are just not keeping up with supply at the moment and it is very frustrating for all concerned .... including some of the nice people at Nikon Australia who do try hard to keep everyone happy! There is only so much you can do.

Good stuff Dan, you will love it! I bought my backup D3 yesterday and had a good play with it today. Same camera, but I've got the giggles all over again.

I was in L&P yesterday and they had a nice gold box with a dee and a three on it on the desk near the door. Unfortunately, Alicia wasn't up to the distract whilst I grab routine. So I just bought an H3D instead before I woke up.

Well finally have had a chance to shoot today with the D3 out in the field.........all i can say is that it made my D200 look like a toy....i know its the 'ass behind the glass' that counts but this is definitely going to take my photography to the next level (and anyone for that fact how could it not)

First impression better (brighter more consistent) metering
Better (by 100times) AF
Sharp at ALL 51 points not just the center one (like the D200)
Amazingly sharp (did i already mention that lol)
Colours are truer with skin tones (no horrible red skin cast)
Faster (100 times) AF
f5.6 looks like 2,8 with the full frame (even the DX crop is super its not that bad at all)
Better dynamic range (handles lights and darks better/shadows hightlights - as has been said the ultimate wedding camera)
Awesome in camera Picture Controls.....free times at weddings can now be consumed by doing some picture editing in camera

All in all freakin AMAZING!!
