Lightroom 1.0 thru to 1.3

New here so be cool.I downloaded free trial of Adobe lightroom 1.0.3 and am loving it. I have no credit card to buy the key from Adobe.
Searched around and I can get Lightroom 1.0 with my Paypal account.Lightroom 1.0 is cheaper can it be later upgraded eg when I get a credit card.
I am in Byron Bay and could ask a shop to download for me but feel all the authentication payment should be in my name if I ever want to move it to another laptop.I havn't followed the growth of Lightroom from 1 to 3 and find the Adobe site slow to download info.The bottom line is would I be stupid to buy Lightroom 1.0 online and sort out upgrades later.Thank you

I have lightroom 1 and its check for updates, there are free to download
LR is still evolving so there will be ongoing updates eg new cameras and fine tuning
My hard drive died last week had to reload LR1 and CS3 then reload the updates

so hope this helps

I upgraded from 1.0 to 3 last month no problems, so should be OK.

It's a free upgrade from 1.0 to 1.x (currently 1.3.1 is the latest).
That is to say that the licence key for 1.0 works for all of 1.x.

If you end up with a dodgy hacked version of 1.0 where you don't actually enter a key, it's obviously a bit hard to upgrade. I've seen this happen to a couple of people (presumably they didn't pay for the pirated versions though, so hopefully this doesn't apply to the deal you're looking at).
