Before I knew anything about photographyWhilst digging around my hard drives, I found a collection of images taken at the start of 2002, well before my true love of photography began.
I went on a trip with a mate and borrowed a friends Nikon CoolPix 885 to document it. Here are three images that I tweaked in Lightoom. Whilst all criticism is welcomed, please critique my editing skills more than anything (as these were taken well before I knew my rules of thirds from my aperture settings). Rutherglen I really love this shot, but damn I wished I had my DSLR on a tripod and stood in the middle of the bloody road! Australian Open 2002 Not sure about this one, I kind of like the high contrast (thanks to the stadium shadow) because it brings out the tennis ball from the serve toss. Nyngan Golf Course Royal Melbourne Golf Course, eat your heart out!. I like the scorched earth perspective, but I wish my mate in the background was a bit more noticeable. Cheers, beej
Re: Before I knew anything about photographyI really like all three.
Not sure if #1 would actually be improved by centering, I like it how it is. - Nick

Re: Before I knew anything about photographyI'm not overly keen on the last because I feel that the ball doesnt stand out enough... but a huge big WOW on the other two... cracking pp'ing there!
The last thing I want to do is hurt you... but it's still on the list...
Re: Before I knew anything about photography#1 is great, and love #2. Nice work on the PP

Re: Before I knew anything about photographyI love the trees and the way the mist in the background sort of curls the road up into them. I wish my 'before I knew anything about photography' shots were anywhere near as good. GJ
Re: Before I knew anything about photographyMany thanks to all that responded.
