Re: 25Mp FF CameraThat is scary. Looks like they are conspicuously displaying a decent sized prism there too (or it is a funny pop-up flash).

Re: 25Mp FF Camerawow canon was really caught with its pants down this time!
Re: 25Mp FF Camera
I'm sure you mean "Nikon" not "Canon" in that sentence. Canon already sell a 22MP full frame camera, where Sony is talking about possibly having a 25Mp one in the future at a yet-to-be-announced price. Sometime after that Nikon will probably have one too. Meanwhile, Canon have been selling theirs into a giant market hole that no-one else can access. I think you're so used to Canon being substantially ahead of the competition that you're shocked when they're not. I kind of agree, but at the same time I'm happy to see some competition. I'm expecting that by the time you can actually buy a 25MP Sony/Nikon Canon will have a successor in the works - the timetable I predict is

Re: 25Mp FF CameraMoz,
You left a couple of things off your timeline, I suspect.
Seriously now ... This is not a forum for pissing contests between brands. Please take those sorts of comments, elsewhere. I understand that your comment was made in jest, but it could easily be taken the wrong way, so please, let's just deal with this on its merits. I will certainly be interested to see what sort of a FF camera Sony can produce: there's some great old glass that, if they can get the engineering right - should be able to be used on such a body. Sadly, I doubt that Sony's engineers will be permitted to do the job correctly. See item #4 in this thread. If they get it right, then it's more competition for Canon and Nikon, both of which now produce great FF camera bodies. That is only going to be good for us, the consumers, at the end of the day. If they don't, then we're no worse off than today. In the meantime, both Canon and Nikon are continuing to do their R&D, and we'll certainly be seeing more interesting products from them over the next 18 months or so. g.

Re: 25Mp FF CameraYeah, sorry about that/. I'm mostly whining that these early pre-announcements that one day they intend to release a camera get on my wick. I mean, really, a camera manufacturer intends to release a new model. Who would have thought?

Re: 25Mp FF Camera
Nikon's worst was probably their "hey, wait for me" announcement of the D70, issued several months prior to the PMA in which it was actually announced, and it then still took another two or so months before it hit the streets. Fortunately, it was a very good camera. For its time. g.
