Momento photo book

Postby gelati on Wed Feb 06, 2008 11:37 am

Hi all, I'm new to this forum (discover this place when I am searching for some answers about Momento).

I am in the process of using Momento to create a coffee table book for our ceremony. I finished all the editing and formatting and uploaded the master file to the Momento server. The problem is the photos/wordings seems to look very unfocus and blurry (shadows surrounding the edges of the objects etc). I have view examples of other previews and although there are some degrees of blurriness but the issue is not as prominent in these samples.

The photos I am using are all over 2000 x 2000 jpeg files, most file size are greater than 3 mb so the photo quality shouldn't be an issue, although I did use editing tools to change some of the photos.

The master file size is around 25 mb.

Maybe someone with experience in using Momento knows whether this is just a preview issue or the quality of my book will be the same as the preview if I decide to print?

Omg... they had a baby elephant at their wedding!!! How wonderful!!! Thats almost worth marrying for...

I said almost! :P

And the quality looks fine here... but the link you have sent is only a very small res of the completed book..

Have you tried emailing Momento and asking them about the compression you are seeing?.. And not that I am knocking Momento but there are also other photobook companies out there that do a higher quality job than momento which you may decide to look into.. :)

Oh... and welcome to the forum!

After pressing the submit button I received a reply from Momento tech support  . The answer is the preview is a low resolution file and the actual book should be better quality unless I had quality warnings while formatting and ignore them.

Oh Bindi do you mind listing those companies here or pm me? Thanks!

Hi Bindi

Thank you for the recommendation. Unforunately I am not in the business (but hope I can do this part time one day!). When I do I'll certainly try this company.

Right now I'll get my book from Momento and see how it turns out. :P

Hi, and welcome.

We have had other members using Momento, and I believe all with very good outcomes.

Try using the search facility here, and seeing if it's able to dig out some of the earlier threads on them.

Cheerz.

Hi gelati,

<Semi hijak of thread>

You mentioned you can't use Asuka but in case anyone else does you should only look at and download stuff from http://www.asuka.com.au (the australian site) I was adviswed not to use the templates form the US site as they may differ.

Bindii - do you actually use the US guys or do you deal with Lyndsay?

Cheers,
:D

I have a question - what defines a 'professional photographer'??
sorry - but is in relation to the asukobook.com.au website :)

You just need an ABN within the photography field. Not really that hard to get since it does not cost you anything to setup an ABN!!!
