Some wedding pics from this weekendWell, on Saturday I was the photographer for my aunty's wedding (actually I tell a lie - another cousin was the co-photographer, without whom I would not have agreed to do it!!!)
Some of the shots were easy for me - like the candid photos, taking group photos and capturing events photo-journalism style. Others were totally unfamiliar, where I had to take charge and pose people etc. The day wasn't without drama either - first the priest was almost an hour late, which meant we didn't have time to go to our agreed location for the posed shots - we ended up going to a park near the church. It had been raining quite heavily earlier, but when we left the church it was harsh sunlight so the conditions were tough. My offsider and I did a bit of teamwork at the park - we started off by splitting into two groups - I took the bride and groom, and he took the rest of the bridal party for about 15 minutes, then we came together for the whole bridal party. We then tag teamed a bit - one of us would come up with an idea and shoot it while the other one thought of the next idea. I have a newfound respect for wedding togs - there is NO WAY I would want to do it for a living. Such pressure and workload in a single day! Anyway, here are some of my efforts for the posed photos. I incorporated a bit of strobist action into some of these shots, with pocket wizards and a single SB-800 on a light stand. D200 with the Nikkor 17-55 DX. Not perfect (hence the shadow of ME in one of the photos), but I think I ended up with pretty decent results for a first time attempt. Any suggestions for how I could have done a better job? I was experimenting and semi-blindly firing off shots at various exposures as it was so bright I could barely eyeball the histogram on the screen.
Re: Some wedding pics from this weekendFirst shot is lovely Des, I am sure they would have loved the pics you have taken

Re: Some wedding pics from this weekendThanks guys
I am still kinda PPing the pics, and will probably do several alternate versions of some of the shots before giving them a disc full of images. Just did a quick PP to show them the following day at a family bbq
