First Image(s) with the D300 Housing

With everyone getting new bodies, I think that separate section for you to proudly display your first image from your new acquisition is in order.

This applies to brand new bodies, as well as bodies that are simply newly acquired by you.

First Image(s) with the D300 Housing

Postby ATJ on Mon Feb 11, 2008 9:22 pm

The housing arrived on Friday afternoon and within an hour I had the D300 loaded up. I was hoping to have something decent as my first image in the housing (even if it wasn't underwater) well, I bumped the shutter release lever so this is my real first image:

This is what I really wanted...

On Sunday, I took the housing and camera for it's first underwater excursion. Again, I wanted to take something special as a first image. I saw a nudibranch and thought that would be nice but realised I needed to use f/22 rather than f/16. Well, the shutter release level is right next to the sub-command dial knob. So, this is my first underwater image. :(

I would have been much happier with this as my first image:

For those that are interested, here's a bit of a write-up on the housing: Ikelite Undewater Housing for the D300. Actually, even if you aren't interested, the write-up is still there. :P

David, not significantly. I just had to remove a few pieces of foam.

Nice - you will have a lot of fun with it.

What strobes and arms did you set up on your new kit?
