Now, *that* was quick.

Wait - vertical banding? Nikon must have a patent for that... Although it seems completely different from the D200 vertical banding issue. I think a lot of sensors produce some kind of vertical striping under low light long exposure situations, esp when boosted in PP.

Cheers

That was so quick it makes you wonder why Nikon were not aware of the issue before releasing the D300. Then again, maybe they were :?

I thought I should mention that you need a fully charged battery for this, the camera refuses to perform the upgrade without it

Well i'm going to have to admit that i'm a member of the D300( with MB-D10) club :D
Now can anyone tell me if they are having trouble dwownloading the firmware upgrade? I know there are probably a lot of people trying to download it but can someone direct me to a site that seems to be working? I seem to be having trouble on the nikon site registering.
Now that i have weakened and bought one is there a hat or t-shirt we are all wearing to signify the momentus occasion?
cheers

Thanks guys got the download from Nikon.com.au finally. May i ask if there is a link to spreadsheet similar to the D200 one that has shooting bank suggestions for the D300? Failing that someone who has secretly worked on developing the settings and shooting banks that produce image quality to kill for and would like to share their knowledge with lazy ol' me? :)
cheers
