The Bridge will be closed for 5 hours.

Mark Webber will be driving his F1 car across the bridge, but he's been told he must abide by the speed limits.

How long is this bridge?

If it was say, between 1km & 2km long, then that's no faster than 0.4km/h.

My advice: don't be overly concerned about using a fast shutter!

Typical, block off traffic for hours just for some stupid publicity crapola.

When will the Sydney City Council wake up and smell the beans. They refuse to lower the speed limit in the city to 40Kph when the cross-city tunnel is completed, put in pedestrian safe crossings and 'no-traffic' areas and then create traffic problems by blocking off a major access so some wannabe Fangio can show off his shiny new wheels to people in a city where the grand prix is NOT happening. Next thing you know will happen is Albert Park Lake in Melbourne will be closed off so Webber and his 'mates' can race around the damn thing.

I was thinking about going and having a look at this, it turns out that there is no public access to the bridge. pretty poor form i think, closing the bridge for so long, and the only way to see it is on 10...

Road closures on the Sydney Harbour Bridge will commence from 5am with the bridge fully closed to all traffic by 5:45am.

The cycleway and pedestrian footway across the Sydney Harbour Bridge will be closed from 4am until 10am. The Cumberland Street underpass will also be closed from 4am until 10am. Pedestrians and cyclists wishing to cross the Sydney Harbour Bridge during these closures can travel by train from either Wynyard or Milsons Point stations.

There will be no public viewing opportunities on the bridge.

Our beloved leaders have fallen for the old "they'll stop in Sydney on the way to Melbourne" line.

Just like all of the tourists we're seeing today who have come to Melbourne after seeing Sydney, following on from the Olympics.
