Skyport connection to SB800/600

Postby Dprime on Mon Mar 03, 2008 12:19 pm

Hey all,
Just wondering how people that use skyports connected them to speedlights?

Ive only been able to find a 3.5mm jack to hotshoe connection cord on B&H, but they retail for $34.95 for one bloody cord thats 20cm long, so I'm not really keen on that idea. Has anyone found a cheaper solution?

Cheers,
Brett

Skyport to Canon 580EX II's I use the 2.5 or 3.5mm connection or whatever it is to PC Sync cable. I think they were about $15 each.

Yeah I was thinking that for my 800 because that has a PC sync input as well but my 600's don't. So I'm guessing they are limited to only hotshoe connection style cords...

I bought 3.5mm to PC Sync cords for $7.99 each from this EBay seller:

Delivery from Hong Kong took about a week.

Thanks for the replies,

For future reference if anyone was interested in connecting a 3.5mm jack via hotshoe for flashes without PC connections I stumbled across this today..

http://www.groundlevelphotography.com/c ... equipment/

And you can buy a 3.5mm jack to hotshoe cord here for $19.95 US + postage:
