shoulder bag 2 camerasI have read weightlifting is good for the elderly. I am looking for a shoulder bag for two cameras with lenses fitted (30D & 40d with no added battery packs) room for a flash like 550ex. I have an old Tamrac which is a little too small.
Hoping to do it online paypal or similar. Prefer to stay with reputable brand like Tamrac have looked at Crumpler bags and was tempted any suggestions. This something better bought in a store but will try online. OK added question best store on Gold Coast??? regards Russell
Re: shoulder bag 2 camerasHey Russell, any particular reason you want a shoulder bag as opposed to a backpack?
I have a great shoulder bag from Think Tank (The Urban Disguise 30). It'll fit a camera/grip, plus a couple of lenses and a flash. I think that is pretty much the limit of the weight I want to hang off one shoulder, and to be honest, that is only when I replaced the stock strap with a brilliant neoprene op/tech bag strap. But you can't really go wrong with bags from Lowepro, Tamrac, Think Tank or Crumpler. It's just a case of comparing the sizes/features of various models.
Re: shoulder bag 2 camerasI carted a shoulder bag around with two bodies and various bits and pieces for ages... but am soooo glad that I got rid of it and moved to a shoulder bag..
but the lowepro shoulder bag I had was excellent (for a shoulder bag that is).. I'd recommend them... The last thing I want to do is hurt you... but it's still on the list...
Re: shoulder bag 2 camerasSue,
You aren't making sense. you moved to a shoulder bag from a shoulder bag but we get your drift.
Re: shoulder bag 2 camerasa shoulder bag because it gives me a support for lens changing acts like a little table
back packs seem to be too remote shoulder bag is quick to hide camera looking for a walkaround bag not an equipment bag
Re: shoulder bag 2 cameras
Just to throw it out there - I had a shoulder bag and thought that's all I'd need - big mistake so I've just bought a Lowepro Fastpack200 back pack and it is a brilliant http://products.lowepro.com/product/Fastpack-200,2085,14.htm. Extremely user friendly and a good price - $89 from Photo Continental. This bag would actually do everything you have mentioned above. Just my 2c worth Linda

Re: shoulder bag 2 camerasHi,
I love my crumpler back pack , not just besaue it has heaps of room and is secure, but it leaves both hands free when shooting and my shoulder doesn't fall off at the end of the day ... but you are right it does take a minuite or two to get a camera in and out ... I know there is a style of bag that fit over the head and one shoulder and diagonally across the front of the body often used by Uni students so they may be worth a try (think they are called messenger bags??) ...but being a girl I find them a bit of a hassle as a couple of things get in the way .. Must admidt I am curious as to what you are shooting that means you want to quickly hide your camera ??? Have fun Deb T DebT

A large shoulder bag will carry 8 bottles of red wine and a minox 35mm camera. Regards

Re: shoulder bag 2 cameraswhat with things getting in the way and bottles of red wine a $89 back pack from photo continental would be an interesting experiment.

Re: shoulder bag 2 camerasI was unaware that back packs could have side openings......... lowepro
Re: shoulder bag 2 camerasCrumpler Messenger Style bag ('7 million dollar home' is the model) FOR THE WIN! Its big enough for 2 bodies and some lenses and a flash. It's also extremely well made, very good for your camera, and very comfortable to carry.
As a testament to its rigidity and camera protection quality, I can sight the following example... When I am driving I normally put the bag on the floor behind the drivers seat, but one day for some reason I had the bag on the seat. I went around a corner just a little bit faster than I should have (not speeding, I just misjudged the corner), and the bag with my whole kit launched from one side of the car and hit the opposite door on the fly. I crapped my pants just a little bit, but when I inspected the camera, everything was completely fine. Again, FOR THE WIN! I prefer the messenger style bag as you can simply swing it around your body when you need to get something out of it, without actually putting it on the ground. The Crumpler bags also come with a hefty padded section on the strap so it wont dig into your shoulder. You can also add on little mobile phone pouches and what not which is very handy. It was expensive, but worth every cent IMHO. Matt

Re: shoulder bag 2 camerasProbably the most expensive option you could take but I love the idea of this.

Re: shoulder bag 2 camerasIf you want lots of room, the Crumpler Brazillion Dollar home :D
I've got the 7 million dollar home for about a year and a half, but I think it's time for me to sell mine. My shoulder and back can't take it anymore. It can easily hold 7kg+ worth of stuff, but I can't, especially when going on 15km walks with it ---
Equipment: camera body, wide lens, standard lens, telephoto lens, flash Wish list: skill
Re: shoulder bag 2 cameras
With all the housing booms, will u be selling it for 8.5million??
