Re: A few mining shotsgreat shots!
The second one could benefit from a worker or a car in the picture to give feel of scale. Otherwise it looks a little small. On Strobist website there was a link some time ago to a video about shooting this kind of things and what too look for to make the shot amazing as appose to just good.
Re: A few mining shotsNice images I realy like the first....
But on on days off so it all feels like work to me.. Thanks for sharing MATT
Re: A few mining shotsI like the first. It would work well as a cover shot.

Re: A few mining shotsI did a few photography jobs with the mines over the last few years before i moved to canberra. It was a pretty good experience, but after about 2 years it became a bit mundane. It payed well though
Re: A few mining shotsNice shots... Love second and third...
What was the technique for the third?
Re: A few mining shotsI like them in this order 1 - 2 -3. Great shots!
Re: A few mining shotsIn the third shot I could see the lights of the larger truck coming up and the ute was doing some work for me, so i ask them to stop at that point for me, and took the shot at a slower shutter speed to get the blur of the other truck behind. It was a little while ago so i'm not sure of the specifics though.
Thanks for the comments everyone!
Re: A few mining shotsThe 2nd shot is really impressive, great use of colour and light.
If you can go again, 1 would be great if you could close in to the top of the conveyor belt and frame the sunset behind it. I realise this may be impossible, there are areas it's not safe to go, but it would look good. Odille

Re: A few mining shotsThanks for the comments everyone. I have 5 images that i love and that have been published and used on websites, but they have the company name in them and they won't let me use them outside of the company.
