Sigma 28-70 f2.8Simple, quick question - is this lens better/a good replacement for Nikkor 18-55 kit lens.
TIA Linda
Re: Sigma 28-70 f2.8Yes it should be.
I was seriously considering either it or the Sigma 24-70 f2.8 (which has a downside of a larger 82mm front thread, so filter are more expensive again) when I was lucky enough to get a Nikkor 28-70 f2.8 2ndhand. Another lens spoken well of is the Tamron 28-75 f2.8 which I think a few have? Old D200+extras
Re: Sigma 28-70 f2.8I've got one, it lives on one of my bodies, Super sharp, even wide open. Fast focus, even in lower light. All in all I recommend it.
2x D700, 2x D2h, lenses, speedlights, studio, pelican cases, tripods, monopods, patridges, pear trees etc etc

Re: Sigma 28-70 f2.8Thanks for the opinions - one on ebay for sale at a reasonable price and just wanted to check it out before jumping in and buying it.

Re: Sigma 28-70 f2.8Removed to a seperate post
Re: Sigma 28-70 f2.8i am thinking of getting one too, is the weight a concern and it seems alot bigger when compared to the other rivals. anyone would like to comment more on this.
