a friend of mine has a cannon eos 5000 film camera....she is thinking of buying a digital and was wondering if the lens she has will fit.

According to wikipedia, the EOS 5000 dates from 1995

and the current Canon lens mount, the EF dates from 1987

So, it would appear that the lenses from the 5000 should at least fit a modern Canon DSLR. Depending on the lens, it may require manual focussing though, I'd suggest taking the lens along to her friendly camera shop and seeing if she can test it.

If it is an EF lens all should be AOK. If older, forget it.
