Each week, one of the moderators or administrators selects an image that, for whatever reason, catches their eye. Please feel free to add your comments here. Vigorous discussion of the images and techniques is welcome and encouraged. Criticism of any mod for their choice is not. Please note that this is "Picture of the Week"; do not confuse that with "best picture of the week", which is a concept of which we have no understanding.

An interesting choice this week, some good work and a lot of new posters on the forums showing images. I had a few contenders for POTW this week with some nice travel shots ( http://dslrusers.com/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=31490 weird and wonderful things to do with limes!) to more great "drop" pics ( http://dslrusers.com/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=31505) But this week goes to a terribly clichéd but very good shot: There are a lot of things to like about this shot: *It's busy, lots of natural happy action. *Well composed (no body parts missing, simple background not distracting from the foreground action) *Well chosen depth of field: figures are sharp, background smooth. and most importantly: This is an image that can only appreciate in value to the photographer over time... Well done Kiwifamily! (Darren!) Original thread: http://dslrusers.com/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=31432

It is difficult for young kids to understand the concept of field positions in soccer... *everyone* goes for the ball! Nicely captured.

haha yeah i agree on the "field positions comment". I used to coach a young girls team and that was the hardest part of the job :P
Very nice photo, love the fun they are having.
