Northern Lights, Adelaide. (yes, again!) :)

I've hung back from going in to take photos, but it closes on the 31'st, so it was this week or battle the crowds on the weekend.

Someone else mentioned that 11PM is good, so we arrived at about 11:30, but the crowds and other pesky photographers didn't really thin out until about midnight. I took about 100 shots in an hour and a bit. You really have to watch your angles, and the normal lights and bollards etc around the place are painful for some of the buildings.

1st, 2nd and 4th are great, the colours are really sharp, what settings did you use ?

I like them all. great composition for what could of easily turned into boring, and plain, building shots

Catcha, not sure which settings you mean, here is what I did:

The first photo was taken at: 32mm, ASA400, 3 Seconds @f8.

Processed in LightRoom:

WB (as shot), 4950;
Exposure -1.67;
Recovery 31;
Blacks 5;
Contrast +25;
Vibrance and Saturation both +2.

That's it.

The others followed a similar path, just minimal PP to reveal the colours and reduce the blow out of static lighting.
#3 needed more radical steps to save dark areas, but ultimately it's not a great photo.

Interesting to note that wheelie bins ruined a few photos, I think people without tripods drag them around and use them as camera supports.
