Aperture 2.0Apple's finally released version 2.0.
http://www.apple.com/aperture/ The trial version is for 30 days. The new layout is handy when not in full screen mode (more screen space); vignette/devignette; repair + clone, etc. are all welcomed additions. Running pretty smooth over here on my iMac Intel Notes: 1. If you already have a licensed copy of Aperture in your Applications folder, you need to move or rename it before installing the Aperture 2 trial. 2. To open an existing Aperture 1.x library with Aperture 1.5 after you've run the Aperture 2 trial, drag the library onto the Aperture 1.5 application. 3. Aperture 2 Trial cannot upgrade a library created by Aperture 1.5. Upgrading 1.x libraries is only supported in licensed versions of Aperture 2, as opening an earlier 1.x library with the Aperture 2 Trial would permanently “upgrade” the library. Nikon D70

Re: Aperture 2.0Been using it the last week, and it's a massive improvement over version 1.5.6! Loving it.
Viewing your whole library is super-sweet. Last edited by Pehpsi on Tue Mar 11, 2008 12:28 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Re: Aperture 2.0I agree!
it certainly has increased in performance over 1.5 and thats the main reason i didn't use 1.5 ! I'm considering buying it next month what are you runnin it on pehpsi? im runnin a Macbook Pro 2.4ghz w/ 4gb ram, OSX 10.5.2
Re: Aperture 2.0Hey.
Running it on a 20" iMac Intel C2D, 2GB ram. It's doing a fine job. Think i'll chuck some more ram in it though, can't hurt Nikon D70

Re: Aperture 2.0If you import RAW into Aperture 2.0 you can also adjust the exposure settings (exposure, recovery, black point and brightness). I don't use this since I use Capture NX2, but others might be interested.
Re: Aperture 2.0I downloaded a trial 2.0, seems great to me.
However when I import from picture project (nef) there is a marked difference, i.e. photo in aperture is a lot lighter than in PP. any ideas ?? I found it a hassle to delete in aperture so I load into PP delete the rubbish, then import into aperture this is on an imac 17" core duo with 2gb ram 1 shot out of focus is a mistake, 10 shots out of focus is an experiment,
100 shots out of focus is a style!, anonymous.
Re: Aperture 2.0Hi,
I recently bought a macbook pro and then Aperture 2. I am not that confident with computers, but I must say that the mac is very user friendly and Aperture 2 is very impressive. I believe it stores a master of your original file, RAW or jpg or tiff, and then it refers back to it for different versions. It takes up a lot less space on the hard drive. I have yet to discover how to change the image size and PPI for upload on the net. If anyone can point me in the right direction I would be very grateful. Re: Aperture 2.0It is defenitly a big step up from Aperture 1, but I only used it untill Lightroom 2 came out, the built in brushes and filters make lightroom miles ahead for me.
Lots of goodies really, lets just say my lenses stretch from 10mm to 500mm with plenty of light at 5fps
