Looking for a decrepit house in Sydney or surrounds

Postby dawesy on Wed Apr 02, 2008 5:17 pm

A strange request. I have some ideas for some staged and more artistic than my usual photos I would like to pursue and I would love to me able to shoot them in a house or building that is, well, falling apart. Something along these lines:

Does anyone know of anywhere in Sydney that would go close to fitting the bill? Even Blue Mountains or southern highlands as I can make a trip out of a weekend shoot pretty easily to those areas.

Obviously access is an issue, but if you know a place but don't have legal access I can at least go on the hunt for the person from whom to seek permission while I am nailing down the ideas.

Thanks!

While I realise it's not a house, Botany National Park has some unique rooms up there. Probably not what you're after, but just for you to keep in mind if you get stuck for locations. :)

Cheers.

Thanks for the suggestions. In both places I think some of those rooms would work really well. Have to go and scope them out at some point.

Cheers.

Here's one that's so close to Concord you'll kick yourself. Its the old Wisdom Tooth brush factory on the other side of the Concord bridge going up the hill to Ryde. It's right on the corner as you turn left to go to Meadowbank.I shot my son's band in here and from the feedback he's had since putting on Myspace it kicks Uranaus.

This will give you an idea of the devestation there.
