ButterflyNot really a Macro - but I was walking back from the beach and spotted this guy so I got in close with the 24-70 lens and opened right up to limit DOF.
Anyone know their butterfly species? -please don't say it's a moth. Bob

Re: ButterflyI believe it is a Eurema hecabe. Otherwise know as a Common Grass Yellow butterfly. They are medium in size, have yellow wings with black edge. They are easily found fluttering close to ground. They fly very quickly. We can see them in Brisbane in all seasons. The caterpillar is green in colour with yellow lines each side of body. The caterpillar feeds on Dwarf's Apple Breynia oblongifolia, pinnate Acacia and a weed Sesbania cannabina.
Googled it by the way.. wouldn't know one butterfly from the next Nice shot though. Craig
Re: Butterflynice lighting... Could I assume it is the sky-cloud large size soft box powered by SUN branded flash?
Re: ButterflyBeautiful composition Bob - the butterfly leads you up the stem to the buds and ties the whole pic together
