some shots from me, its been a while!

Postby jamesw on Mon Apr 07, 2008 12:57 pm

been a while in between posts, but here are a couple of shots from me.

i shot this one at a comp, but i really liked the composition and the feel. you can see there are lots of people around, he's nicely separated in the sky and the overcast clouds has given the trees in the background a really cool glow.

Image

this one was for a web interview with ryan (same rider as above). we went street riding and found these stairs. i'm not sure if the ambient is too much, or if it suits. i also think it might be suited to a square crop (with the lightfalloff at the bottom its a bit dead down there), but i'm at work so i can't crop it.

Image

also, sorry about the watermarks on them. they are a bit distateful but were used for a big american website, so i wanted to get a bit of promo out of the shots for myself.

cheers

I agree fully with your own self critique.. the first is a cracker... the second would look fab in a square crop... :)

The first one is off the ricta! I would say for the second that i would probably crop the foreground a tad, but other than that - great shots. Just a question - in the second is he kicking his back wheels around cause it doesn't make sense for him to be travelling horizontally between the two railings?
cheers,
James

My guess is he is doing a 360 spin (I am sure there is a much better name for the trick) over the stairs.

Great shots. You are spot on with your own comments, the second needs to be cropped from the bottom. Well done in getting in the big american mag, hopefully the phone will call soon with an all expenses paid trip to Cali
