POTW April 8th

Each week, one of the moderators or administrators selects an image that, for whatever reason, catches their eye. Please feel free to add your comments here. Vigorous discussion of the images and techniques is welcome and encouraged. Criticism of any mod for their choice is not. Please note that this is "Picture of the Week"; do not confuse that with "best picture of the week", which is a concept of which we have no understanding.

POTW April 8th

I chose this picture because of its power. I imagined it printed very very large and hanging on a gallery wall. What a crowd stopper it would be! The lighting was controlled and set to maximise the skin texture...the image is confrontational, direct and commanding. It reminded me of a Chuck Close portrait....and they are worth hundreds of thousands of dollars! Well done Alex!

Matt, I saw it this morning and loved it. Alex this image evokes plenty of emotion, what more could you ask for?

Great shot Alex, love the tones and the right in there framing, and Jit makes a fine model.

I saw this one the other day and I liked it then... now that I've had another look I have to say that I like it even more now.. :)
