80-200 F2.8 questions

hi guys, long time lurker here, but signed up recently as i have upgraded my gear and need to upgrade my knowledge now ! first post :cheers:
I just got a 80-200 AF-D lens, and it had no manual.

q1. the limit / full switch... for focus limiting ? if so , over what distances?

q2. tripod collar... removable ? it doesnt seem so but i didnt want to try too hard !!!

I used to have that lens before I sold it off to get a 70-200VR...

Fantastic lens, and great value, you'll love it :)

1) yes, the limit/full switch is to limit focus distance... either 1+ m to 2+ m... or 2+ m to infinity, depending which side of that split you are on when you flick the switch. Can't exactly remember the exactly point of the split, but it is pretty easy to estimate by having a look at the focus distance scale in the little window :)

2) Tripod collar NOT removable.

Ahh, you need the AFS version. Removable collar and REALLY fast focus 8) .

Althuogh I've also heard good things about the AF-D version too :).
