I've looked at these a while and I just keep coming back to that second image. There is so much about this picture that speaks to the viewer - there is great juxtaposition of subjects and it has that wonderful strong eye contact from the young boy. #3 comes close, but somehow lacks the poignancy of that second image. #1 is a little unremarkable I'm afraid - more snapshot than story and #4, while a nice candid, lacks the power you've achieved in 2 and 3.

Matt I have to agree with Stubbsy No 2 is a corker of a shot. Makes one think a bit.

I love all of these.

As mentioned, the eye contact in the second, the contrast within of the subjects, this is a very powerful image.

So too, I think, is the first. Here we have the people, gathered around an old digger (one would presume) in a wheelchair, umbrellas loaded, to protect him from the rain. Everyone is soaked, yet from the face of the lady whose face we can, there seems to be a great deal of pleasure being derived from the situation they're in, and with whom they're chatting.

The third speaks to me of pride, of grace, and of courage.

I like the way the third girl in the line (in the final image) is looking straight at you, but I'm wondering what this image might be like were you to crop out the lead girl of this quartet. She has a different expression from the other two who are looking forwards, and they are far more serious. The contrast between those two, and the girl looking towards you between them, might, I suspect, make for a stronger imae here.

Matt love the first three, like everyone else I think the 2nd speaks volumes. I am pleased there is a great photographer like yourself there to capture these moments

i will also join in the throng of people praising the second image. the the sheer young age of the boy marching, with seeming pride and seriousness, bearing a full chest of medals next to the aged veterans makes for a powerful image indeed.

Matt #2 is a remarkable image, beautifully composed and poignant. I also love number 3.
