SD to CF adapter?hey guys, i greatly apologise if this is in the wrong forum, but it seems the most appropriate place.
has anyone had any experience with a SD to compact flash card adapter? i'm looking at getting one seeing as sd cards seem to be getting cheaper, and i have several devices with which i can share them, and want to know if these are worth my time. also i'm planning on gong over seas and if past experience is anything to go by, i'm going to need alot of storage space. i'm thinking in the order of about 20gb worth of cards so i need to stock up on memory. anyone? Re: SD to CF adapter?I don't believe I understand what you are trying to do. For cameras, I wouldn't want to compromise speed or reliability by using anything other than the device intended for the camera. i.e. only use SD card in a camera that takes SD cards and only CF cards in a CF camera.
Re: SD to CF adapter?Have you considered some sort of PSD (Portable Storage Device). Basically a card reader with a hard disk you can copy your images to and re-use the card. Some do a whole lot more, I have one that really is basic and I find it really handy on longer trips.
Re: SD to CF adapter?Good question. I wonder if such an adapter exist at all. I have got three 2GB SD cards and no CF cards. Now as I am buying Canon 5D soon, I will need PLENTY of CF storage too.

Re: SD to CF adapter?it might turn out cheaper getting something like the Canon M80

Re: SD to CF adapter?I have heard of such a converter, available via ebay,, but i have never looked for it. there are however converters from fuji and sony respectively that allow you to use Xd cards in CF slots and MS cards in CF slots.
BUT in these cases u will lose speed, the MS and XD cards are just not as fast as a CF card. I would imagine that would be the case with a SD to CF converter, although i wouldn't mind buying one cause i have some Ext III SD's from my D40X that are sitting around doin nothing Cameron
