Postby Flatpick on Sun Mar 09, 2008 2:06 pm

Went out to WSID yesterday and introduced the new 400 2.8 to drag racing,

I think we will get along fine, quite happy with the result

Hi Fred,

Flatpick wrote:Not sure how to put more than one image up,

Just include the second image link (and the third etc) in the same (first) post. Hit the enter key a couple of times between each image tag set, and you'll be right.

Love the first of these: very bloody nice, even if the subject is, er, a bit of a drag. :)

Michael, this was the first race meeting with this lens, and yes, I was impressed, late afternoon in that soft light it was a joy to use.

Forum price was PP10500. Delivered, of course. Paid for on a Friday, delivered and in Fred's hands the following Monday.

This was for the new 2.8 VR. Make sure you know what you're getting, as some dealers still have the older glass.

Never ever post shots taken with this lens ever again, or after my wife kills me for even thinking about it she'll come after you.

(oh, super shots too, that #2 you can really sense the power rippling through that body shell)

Now, put it away, please :D

That is a sweet, sweet lens. Beautiful shots, any chance of letting me admire this lens in the glass and metal??

I so want one of those ones.
Been saving for a year so far - reckon by about mid 2010 I should be about half way there.
Mighty hard to save that many pessos and not dip into the pile for 2years!! - they may have invented a replacement by then.
Great images.

I actually had a go with one the other night at the Rugby. My lust has now grown into something bordering on mania. The IQ even viewing pics on the LCD screen of the D300, the sharpness was amazing. I though my 120-300 was good, but, this thing is at least 10% better imho (as you would expect at three times the price). That 10% means a lot.

Had this lens for several months now, very happy with the results as one should be for the amount of money you have to pay for good glass.

Phepsi... no I will not be at the Compack attack, by the sound of the weather I'll be wraped around the heater.

Here is another from the recent Nitro Champs.

Would love to come down Gary but i do have a commitment tomorrow night, I think it would be great to stroll around with the pool of talent I have seen from the DSLR forum, what could be learned on that walk,,,, I only know a fraction of what the D300 can do, I will get there one day for sure
