Each week, one of the moderators or administrators selects an image that, for whatever reason, catches their eye. Please feel free to add your comments here. Vigorous discussion of the images and techniques is welcome and encouraged. Criticism of any mod for their choice is not. Please note that this is "Picture of the Week"; do not confuse that with "best picture of the week", which is a concept of which we have no understanding.

This week's picture of the week is a landscape panorama by Manta.

It is simply a very nice image, that, for me, just works. Congratulations Simon, for getting up way too early in the morning and sharing this one with us. :)

Done well Simon, i only wish i had time to stop at times when travelling in the truck as i see some nice sun sets but where i drive you cant exactly pull over just anywhere to capture shots liike this but it is a great shot, love it and well deserved.

Thanks everybody, especially Gary for selecting my shot. This scene was a portent of the wonderful day that was to follow - one I'll remember for a long time, for a lot of reasons, not just the photographic ones.

It's great to be back!
