Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent. Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature. Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread. Re: Dark IndustryI don't know Chris, I like it, but it seems as if something is missing, and I just can't put my finger on it.
Like the treatment as well.

Re: Dark IndustryAdd some smoke to make it more animated and make sure it's still doing dark things to the environment..
Re: Dark IndustryI rather like this one. There's plenty of gadgets to look at and the contrasty conversion looks great.

Re: Dark IndustryWhilst I love B&W this is just a little too contrasty for my taste

Re: Dark IndustryI like your black and white conversion. The high contrast enhances your "dark industry" theme a lot. Well the only thing missing I find is the smoke or rather the pollution. Maybe you can add it in yourself =D
Re: Dark IndustryThanks to everyone for your input - the reason for no smoke is simple, this is a concrete distribution complex with nothing to produce the smoke

Re: Dark IndustryChris, I like everything about this.
1. The composition is spot on and suits the structure. 2. The B&W conversion is great - I like the really dark sky and the contrast. 3. The clouds really suit the dark nature of it. Regards, Patrick
Two or three lights, any lens on a light-tight box are sufficient for the realisation of the most convincing image. Man Ray 1935. Our mug is smug
Re: Dark IndustryThanks Patrick - it was a straight B&W conversion through Nik Efex 3. The colour version was awful
