Yes it is.

And please put a meaningful location into your profile. We only say this in about a dozen places on the forum - it's actually on the page where you made this very post from.

I'll jump in here and add that the term is meaningful location..... so generally suburb, state is the norm.... not just Perth.

Although the FAQ doesn't actually say this - you may want to edit it and add more detail Gary?

Hence why I have Ulverstone, Tas.

Although Gary seems to think that everyone knows where Bondi is  Actually, where is Bondi, isn't that part of New Zealand 8)

HK Supplies can also be found on ebay - seller name etefore ....

Check the front page, Ian.

In the section, at the very top of the page, headed "Important Stuff" and "New to DSLRUSers.com", it says "Please note that is is a requirement here that you have a valid location included in your profile. For people in Australia, this means something like 'Suburb, City' or 'Suburb, State' (Bondi, NSW or Carlton, Melbourne).

Upon first logging in to the forum, every new member gets an email, asking them to update their profile, an it specifically refers to that message.

I don't think it can be made much clearer than this.

Actually, that's Manly, these days.

Ok Gary

I was just reading the top of the page when I went to reply which says

And there isn't much in there.... it's in the fine print on the top of the portal page, which is a different beast entirely

And I was just having a dig at your location, which doesn't include a state, just a suburb BTW....

And now.... that is the last word from me (on this anyway) :chook:

Very true. The forum's very front page. At the very top. ;)

And I was just having a dig at your location, which doesn't include a state, just a suburb BTW....

Correct. Our concern is that you have at least the suburb, rather than just a state or city name. A suburb, on its own, has always been acceptable. A city or state name, unqualified, never has.

Cheers. :)

Then there's some like myself who got in trouble for putting "Melbourne" by itself although that's the suburb I live in (which just happens to be the city too). :)

In which case, you should have something like "Melbourne CBD". That, too, is on the front page. :)
